James Anderson has retired, so now what for England?

The question is, how do you replace arguably the greatest fast bowler of this generation? it's a tough one, and this is the very question England's men's cricket team is asking themselves. The Three Lions have the unenviable task of trying to replace James Anderson, the leading wicket-taker for fast bowlers in world cricket.

England have 'replaced' Anderson, but that's been for the odd test here and there, so in theory, they have been preparing themselves for this. Mark Wood, Jofra Archer, Sam Curran and arguably now Gus Atkinson are the players who have made attempts to be replacements for Jimmy Anderson.

So, the fact that the Burnely Express has now retired for good, this is a chance for Atkinson, Archer, Curran and the likes to step-up and step into Anderson's shoes. Metahporically their big shoes to fit into.

Earlier in his career, Jimmy did consistently touch the close to 90mph, but of course as he got older, to bowl at such pace is naturally going to be a challenge. James Anderson was a man who could do it on cricket's version of a Cold Night In Stoke ( Sub Continent), Anderson became much more skillful and a bowler for all ocassions.

James Anderson masked England's issues in the spin-bowling department by taking wicket's that weren't his to take. Congrats on a superb career Jimmy Anderson. You will easily go down as one of the best, ever.
