Community Empowerment Through Content Marketing Strategies for Local Tourism Development
The findings revealed that residents were influenced by personal economic benefits and pride, self-esteem increased due to psychological empowerment. Political empowerment positively influenced the impact leading to resident support for tourism development. This paper argues that SET is not sufficient to explain resident behavior towards tourism while WFSR emerges as a broader approach. Tourism practitioners need to pay attention to non-economic considerations such as values, beliefs, and morals in advocating for resident support for tourism, as economic benefits alone cannot guarantee them.
