Why T20 is harming cricket

T20 is runing cricket, yes you have read that right. But how? I hear you ask. Cricket fans, the reason is purely a financial one. England's cricket board's, Australia's cricket boards, as well as India's as you cricket fans will know are the cricket boards that have mnet behind them, they're financially well-backed.

The PCB or any of the other international cricket board would never have been able to have created The Hundred, even if they wanted to. Events like these might make money, but they sure do cost a small fortune.

Where in those three countries mentioned, they can market this through TV and other revenue streams and make this viable financially, but can the rest do that? Not really. The PCB and the rest of the world are only improving their T20 model, they're playing catch up to the bohemith that is the IPL, BBL and T20 Blast.

Crickets foundations is based on Test Cricket, some people can say, well that's your opinion, I am forcing this through as facts. Tendaulkar, Kohli, Smith, Root and of course there are many more who have been exposed to test cricket and it's made them better rounded players.

Of those four mentioned, notice how they're in the rich countries catergory, these players can play in more than a two-match test series, most of the time their cricket board chose not to organise longer test series as it will take up time in the calendar for T20, after all that's where the money is.

It's all fair and well T20 doing what it's doing now, but it's travesty that the little brother of cricket formats is trampling on it's other siblings. Us cricketing parents can love all the children equally! It doesn't have to be like this.
